About

About Larry Fritzlan

Larry Fritzlan is a licensed marriage and family therapist, certified addiction specialist, and board-certified interventionist with over 30 years of clinical experience.

He is also in long-term recovery himself, bringing both personal and professional insight to his work with individuals and families.

A Different Approach to Treatment

Larry developed Family Recovery Therapy (FRT), a structured approach that works with the full system surrounding addiction.

In this model, the family is part of the addictive system, and is fully included in the recovery process. Patterns that contribute to ongoing struggles are identified and addressed, alongside the addiction itself.

The focus is on building clarity, accountability, and consistent support over time.

Why a Systems Approach

Addiction often impacts more than one person. It shapes communication, roles, and behaviors within families and relationships.

Addressing those patterns can help create a more stable environment for recovery and reduce the likelihood of repeating the same cycle.

What This Work Includes

Family Recovery Therapy includes:

1.  Individual and family therapy

2.  Structured support and accountability

3.  Coordination with treatment programs when needed

4.  Ongoing guidance through early recovery

The process is designed to support steady progress over time, rather than short-term change.

Experience and Background

Larry has worked with thousands of individuals and families across Northern California.

His work includes intervention, treatment planning, and long-term recovery support, with a focus on both substance use and behaioral addictions.

A Long-Term View of Recovery

Recovery is a process that unfolds over time.
